Vitaliano Gallardo Valencia
AmbassadorHE Vitaliano Gallardo Valencia has been a career diplomat for 30 years. Ambassador Gallardo completed his undergraduate degree at Pontificia Universidad Católica del Perú (Faculty of Law) and his postgraduate at the University of Paris I - Pantheon Sorbonne, as well as a Diploma in International Affairs at New York University (NYU).
He began his career at the Embassy of Peru in Ecuador between 1996 and 2001, before working at the Permanent Representation of Peru to the United Nations in New York (UN) between 2004 and 2009. He was posted at the Permanent Representation of Peru to the Organization of American States in Washington (OAS) from 2012 to 2014. He was Consul General of Peru in Paterson, with jurisdiction over the States of New Jersey and Pennsylvania from 2014 to 2017.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, he has been Director of Security and Defence, and Director of Limits and Director General of Peruvian Communities Overseas and Consular Affairs. He has also served as Director General of International Relations in the Ministry of Defence.
