This year for the third time in the 35-year history of the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) forum, Peru will serve as the host economy. The Ambassador of Peru to Australia, HE Mr Vitaliano Gallardo, will present Peru's vision for APEC Peru 2024. A key goal for Peru as APEC host is to sharpen a focus on the social dimension of development, a goal that is all the more critical as the Asia-Pacific region emerges from the debilitating COVID pandemic.

Ambassador Galliano will outline Peru's ambition for APEC to strengthen economic empowerment, especially for those in vulnerable situations such as women and youth, through digital commerce, sustainable tourism, and innovations.

The presentation will highlight the importance of maintaining economic growth in the Asia-Pacific region, reducing carbon emissions, facilitating the transition to clean energy, improving food accessibility and efficiency, and creating opportunities for small business.

Ambassador Galliano will also discuss the Pacific Alliance's contribution to broad-based and sustainable growth in the Pacific region.

Please join us from 5:30pm for some pre-presentation drinks and nibbles! This event will also be livestreamed to online registrants.
