Are you a student or young professional interested in international affairs? Looking to learn more about the field and its career opportunities, meet experts, and engage with like-minded peers? This event is for you!
The ACT Branch of the Australian Institute of International Affairs (AIIA ACT), in conjunction with the School of Politics, Economics and Society at the University of Canberra, is hosting an interactive discussion on international careers for young professionals on Tuesday, 13 August 2024. We are inviting participation from undergraduate and graduate students at UC, ANU and UNSW Canberra; alumni of DFAT's New Colombo Plan; and young professional members of AIIA (ACT).
Participants will have the opportunity to hear from a select panel of professionals with substantial global work experience about the skills, knowledge and attributes for successful international careers. The main take away will be an understanding about the world of work beyond Australia's shores and how to be prepared for career opportunities overseas.
The panel discussion will take place at the Clive Price Suite (room 1C50), Bruce Campus, UC, commencing at 5.30 pm. Panel members will include representatives from government (Departments of Defence, Prime Minister and Cabinet), private sector (DT Global), academia (National Security College) and international NGOs (ICRC). There will be plenty of time for participants to ask questions of panellists and there will be ample time for networking over beverages and finger food before and after the discussion. The panel discussion will run from 6-7pm.
Registration for this event is free but we ask that participants register to confirm their attendance.
