With the signing of the Abraham Accords in 2020, is the Israeli-Palestinian conflict still the key to peace and security in the Middle East? Is there any genuine hope for effective implementation of the two-state solution in light of the recent Israeli elections and ongoing divisions within the Palestinian territory?

What are the scenarios for solving the conflict given changing political dynamics in the region and other global crises? Could Australia play an effective and leadership role in this conflict as a good international citizen?

In this Middle East Panel event, Ambassadors from countries in the region will discuss these and other questions. Join the AIIA ACT Branch as we hear from HE Mr Mahmoud Zayed, Ambassador of the Republic of Egypt, HE Mr Bassam AlQabandi, Ambassador of the State of Kuwait and Mr Izzat Abdulhadi, Head of the General Delegation of Palestine in Australia.

The ACT Branch will be offering the Ambassador of Israel an opportunity to present his views on Middle East affairs and the state of Australia-Israel relations at an early date in 2023.
