In December 2022, Japan released its new National Security Strategy. It is both transformational and paradoxically wedded to Japan's deeply embedded, defence-oriented security mindset. This includes a commitment to Japan's Three Non-Nuclear Principles of not possessing, not producing, and not permitting the introduction of home-based nuclear weapons. Nonetheless, this duality manifested in the National Security Strategy also has implications for Australia.
Dr Stephen Nagy will outline the continuity and transformation found in the NSS and how it reflects the increasingly severe security environment that Japan is facing in its backyard and beyond.
Please join us for drinks and nibbles prior to the event from 5:30-6pm! It is a pleasure to welcome Dr Stephen Nagy as a guest speaker at the AIIA ACT Branch.
